That’s not a literary device, they really were.
Figuratively, they’re also blaring after a 6-1 loss against the Texas Rangers.
The Sox have lost three straight, five of six, and eight of 12. At 18-19, they’re under .500 for the first time since April 15 and are 9-9 at home.
“I’m not concerned. It’s part of the season,” manager Alex Cora said. “Are we happy with what’s going on? Of course not."
