Working Lunch

Wednesday, May 7, 2025

It's lunchtime, Chicago.

Walt Disney Co. is planning a theme park resort for Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, the company confirmed Wednesday. The attraction will be on the waterfront of Yas Island, already a leisure travel destination.

The new resort will be built, financed and operated by Miral, an Abu Dhabi-based developer. Walt Disney Co. and Walt Disney Imagineering will lead creative design and operational oversight.

And on the jobs front, the Joint Commission, which accredits hospitals across the country, eliminated 55 administrative positions last week at its Oakbrook Terrace central office, a spokesperson confirmed.

Read that story and more in today's Working Lunch.
