Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau spoke today with Saudi Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Al-Khuraiji. They underscored the opportunities that President Trump’s upcoming travel to the Kingdom will bring to deepen the strong U.S.-Saudi economic and security relationship. They reaffirmed the strength and strategic value of our defense cooperation, noting areas to expand strategic collaboration. The Deputy Secretary expressed his appreciation for the open and sincere discussion of regional security issues of mutual concern, and thanked the Deputy Minister for the Kingdom’s close and continuing partnership.
