‘Boardwalk Empire' actor accused of attacking girlfriend with cinder block during sexual assault

Actor Michael Pitt, known for his TV roles on “Boardwalk Empire” and “Dawson’s Creek,” is accused of sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend, choking her, and attacking her with a cinder block and a piece of lumber at his Brooklyn home, according to a grand jury indictment.

Pitt, 44, whose lawyers denied the allegations, was arrested Friday on nine counts including first-degree sexual abuse, criminal sexual acts, assault, attempted assault and strangulation. The indictment cites four incidents between April 2020 and August 2021 at Pitt’s home in Bushwick.

Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez’s office declined to comment Wednesday beyond the allegations listed in the indictment.

Netflix is changing its interface — what it means for you

Netflix is updating its menu.

For the first time in more than 10 years, the streaming giant has introduced a new interface to its homepage that it says will improve the user experience for its more than 300 million subscribers.

Netflix CEO Greg Peters gave an exclusive preview of the new look on May 7 in an interview with NBC’s Kaylee Hartung on TODAY. The new interface will be rolled out to subscribers over the next few weeks.

Disney to build its 7th theme park, this one in the United Arab Emirates

Disney will build its seventh theme park, this one in the United Arab Emirates, the entertainment company said Wednesday.

The waterfront resort will be built on Yas Island on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi city, already home to Formula One’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the Ferrari and Warner Bros. amusement parks, SeaWorld and a waterpark.

Disney and Miral, the Abu Dhabi developer overseeing the project, hope to capitalize on the 120 million airline passengers that travel through Abu Dhabi and Dubai each year.
