Track and Field--It’s not too late to join!
As a reminder, Track and Field began in late April! Track and Field practice takes place during 1st block after school. All students are required to have a physical and signed parent permission form prior to participating in practices and/or meets. Practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It’s not too late to join! Buses provide transportation to all track meets! We’ve had two awesome track meets already!
Here are the links for Physical Forms and Parent Permission forms. Please contact Mr. Williams gwilliams2@fcps.edu with any questions.
Spotlight on Art
Students learned about origami and explored the stories artists tell through their folded paper sculptures. They chose at least 3 origami patterns and created 8 of each with different color schemes. Then the pieces were assembled in a radial (like a flower or wheel) symmetry pattern and glued to the backing to create a low relief sculpture.
National Junior Honor Society
Hello, Glasgow families! Would you like your child to build fundamental skills based on Scholarship, Service, Character, Leadership, and Citizenship? If so, the Glasgow Chapter of NJHS will soon be recruiting new members. Applications are available in Student Services and the deadline to turn in applications is THIS Friday, May 9th. NJHS is only for rising 7th and 8th graders who have a 3.5 GPA (mostly As and Bs). If your student applies and is accepted, they should be committed to attending meetings every other week after school, completing 20 community service hours, and eager to be a part of the school community. If you have further questions please contact Adrienne Cooper at amcooper2@fcps.edu.
