A wonderful way to introduce young children to international dance! Salangai Arts was a huge hit at our National Dance Day 2024 event, and we're thrilled to have them perform and introduce South Indian Dance to our little ones... and their adults!
Funday Monday is geared towards ages 3 - 5, but children of all ages are welcome! Sponsored by the City of Fairfax Commission on the Arts. Celebrating Asian/Pacific Islander History Month.

Spotlight on the Arts’ Top 25 Finalists’ artwork are on exhibit in the Performance Space at the Sherwood Center! Check out “Eye” by Liam Weis, who used spray paint to create his New York Life Grand Prize-Winning Entry. From watercolor to photography, and acrylic to charcoal, this eclectic art exhibit is not to be missed. Most of the works are also available for sale, just in time for Mother’s Day! Lean in and take a closer look!
You will be amazed at the wide variety of colorful and unique recycled items that were used to make this breathtaking sculpture. Created by Nadya Steare, a graduate of George Mason University, it is a 'must see in person' work of art and an absolute delight for all ages!
The sculpture was fully funded through the plastic bag tax revenue and is a joint project of The City of Fairfax Environment and Sustainability Division and the Parks & Recreation/Cultural Arts Department.
