Celtics crumble at home again, head to New York down two games

For the second straight game, the New York Knicks found themselves in a hole the Boston Celtics have rarely let teams out of this season.

The Knicks again found a way — almost the same way, in fact — to pull off the improbable. And now they are two wins away from knocking the defending champions out of the playoffs.

Mikal Bridges sealed another 20-point comeback with his second straight game-ending steal and the Knicks stunned the Celtics again Wednesday night, winning 91-90 for a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Karen Read trial resumes today after heavy focus on ‘hos long to die in cold' search

A witness for the prosecution in Karen Read‘s second murder trial testified Wednesday that a critical phone search for hypothermia was done after the defendant’s Boston police officer boyfriend was found in the snow not hours earlier.

Prosecutors say Read, 45, backed her SUV into O’Keefe, 46, and left him to die after dropping him off at a party hosted by a fellow officer. Her lawyers say she was framed in a police conspiracy and that someone inside the home that night in January 2022 must have killed him.

A mistrial was declared last year. Read’s second trial on charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and leaving the scene has appeared to be similar so far.

Then there seems to be a pause early tomorrow – just to get in the morning commute – before the skies open up again for the rest of the day. So, no, it’s not raining every minute of the day tomorrow, but it certainly isn’t dry.

Fire alarm causes brief evacuation at TD Garden after Celtics-Knicks game

A fire alarm was triggered at TD Garden in the aftermath of the New York Knicks’ 91-90 playoff victory over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night, causing a brief evacuation.

TD Garden officials released a statement late Wednesday saying that an alarm was tripped and that no one was injured. The cause of the alarm is under investigation, the statement said.

Alarms began blaring while New York’s Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart were still at the podium concluding a post game interview. Boston’s Jaylen Brown had just completed his interview session in a separate room when officials directed members of the media toward the exits.
