Survey Extended: Share Feedback by 5 p.m. June 24

Thank you to everyone who has already provided input on the draft concept for the new mini park at 4110 Columbia Pike.

Due to a technical issue with the questionnaire over the weekend, we’re extending the survey by one additional day. If you haven’t had a chance to share your thoughts yet, you now have until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24 to do so.

About the Project:

As part of the broader redevelopment of the Barcroft Apartments property, 4110 Columbia Pike is being transformed into a mixed-use site that includes one of three planned mini parks. Currently home to a 7-Eleven and Penske truck rental, the site sits at the intersection of Columbia Pike and South George Mason Drive—directly across from Centro Plaza and not far from Doctors Run Park.

The new mini park will be designed in line with the Columbia Pike Neighborhoods Form Based Code, with features tailored to meet both required standards and community needs.

What’s in the Final Design?

  • A compact park space that meets Form Based Code requirements

  • Seating, pedestrian paths, bike racks, and other essential park amenities

  • A vision that supports the County’s tree canopy goals and emphasizes biophilic design
  • At least 50% unpaved area, with a quarter of that space vegetated

  • Design adjustments to accommodate utilities and existing infrastructure

The vision is to turn this corner into a green, welcoming space for rest, movement, and connection—whether you’re walking by, riding your bike, waiting for the bus, or pausing for a break with your kids.

Please review the concept and
provide your input here by June 24, 2025
