Hollywood was rocked Sunday when the Los Angeles Police Department revealed that a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman had been found dead inside their Brentwood home, in what law enforcement has called “an apparent homicide.” A statement revealed that the deceased were beloved director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele—and on Monday, law enforcement said that their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, had been booked on suspicion of murdering his parents. Rob Reiner, the son of late actor and comedian Carl Reiner, rose to fame starring on the 1970s sitcom All in the Family. He later directed canonical films including A Few Good Men, When Harry Met Sally…, The Princess Bride, and the 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap—the sequel to which, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, was released earlier this year.
Elsewhere in HWD, the industry pays tribute to Reiner; Savannah Walsh takes us inside the final season of of Outlander; Joel Edgerton talks Train Dreams (and Bluey) in a special live episode of Little Gold Men; and Taylor Swift makes a surprise appearance at a screening of her new Eras Tour docuseries. |
