Don Baker, age 74, a resident of Elk Grove Village for forty five years. Born May 27, 1951, and died March 5, 2026. Born in Port Credit, Ontario, and lived in Montreal, Wilton CT, and Palos Park IL. He moved to the US at age seven, and spent his summers at the family farm in Stouffville, Ontario, working with his Baker cousins on the farm. He also spent summers at their cottage on Lake Kashwackamack in Cloyne, Ontario, where he enjoyed swimming and boating with his Thorneloe cousins. He shared his love of Lake K with his children, who learned to boat, fish, and catch all sorts of critters. After graduating from Purdue with a degree in civil engineering, Don was employed at Socket Screw, Continental Can, and Molex until retirement

Dolores Marie Brand, 95, passed away peacefully March 6th, 2026, at Sunrise Assisted Living. She was a longtime resident of Palatine. Beloved wife of James Robert Brand. Sister of Patricia Rehder and Del Reznicek (deceased), loving mother of Jim (Sara) Brand, David (Helga) Brand and Nancy (Mike) Jambor; proud grandmother of Joe (Lesley) Brand, Katey Brand, Jonathan Brand (Katie), Kevin Jambor, Kaylie Allen (Bill); and great-grandmother of Michael Brand, Madison Brand, Mia Stanek, Ryleigh Brand, Megan Brand, Molly Brand, Billy Allen, and Landon Allen. She was a devoted wife to Jim, the Best Mom ever, devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. An avid fan of author Danielle Steel, and the Chicago White Sox.
