CSMS # 68247148 - Automated Transmission of Container Seal Changes to ACE Manifest for Ocean and Rail Shipments – UPDATED Trade Information Notice Now Available
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) published an updated version of the Automated Transmission of Container Seal Changes to ACE Manifest Trade Information Notice here.
The updated notice includes an additional feature to be deployed to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) production (PROD) environment to notify trade users when CBP personnel add or remove container for ocean and rail shipments. The deployment will include:

New disposition codes to enable ACE to automatically notify carriers via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) when CBP personnel add or remove container seals for ocean and rail shipments.

(NEW) Automated Broker Interface (ABI) filers can query a record of D2/D3 notifications for a bill of lading to determine if container seals have been added and/or removed by CBP, including viewing new container and seal numbers.
These updates are currently available in the ACE CERT environment for testing and will be deployed to the ACE production (PROD) environment on April 9, 2026.
