On April 2, 2026, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a proposed rule (CMS-1843-P) that provides updates to the fiscal year (FY) 2027 Skilled Nursing Facility Value Based Purchasing Program (SNF VBP). In this proposed rule, CMS proposes a series of administrative and scoring policy updates for FY 2027 and future years that are intended to implement the SNF VBP Program’s scoring methodology and promote alignment with other CMS quality programs. The proposed rule went on display at the Federal Register and will be available at: https://www.federalregister.gov/public-inspection
