Principal's Message |
Greetings Tiger Families!
With the 2025-26 school year now in the books, I would like to share a note of gratitude to all our Tiger families, students and staff. Like every school year, this one was filled with great successes, unique experiences, some bumps in the road, and many opportunities for reflection and growth. I have appreciated the generosity, thoughtfulness, and engagement of our amazing community this school year as we supported our 7th graders enter middle school while we prepared our 8th graders for success in high school. Although our time with our students is brief, we endeavor to make a positive impact in that short time with all our students. I know they certainly make a positive impact on us. Before you know it, the calendar will turn to August and we will be welcoming our new 7th graders from Bush Hill, Cameron, Clermont, Franconia, Mount Eagle, Lane, Springfield Estates, Rose Hill and more! We look forward to seeing what lies ahead for our exiting 8th graders and look forward to getting to know our newest Tigers very soon!
Although we will take a break from weekly newsletters until August, we will send out pertinent updates or reminders throughout the summer. Please note our summer office hours at Twain shift to 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Twain Summer Office Hours
Between June 22nd and August 7th this summer, Twain’s office hours will be 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. You may see some activity as you drive past as our campus will be hosting some county programs as well as receiving some scheduled maintenance work.

- September 17th - Back to School Night
Jump Start Summer Program for Rising 7th Graders
Rising 7th grade students are invited to join us at Mark Twain Middle School on August 3rd from 9 am - 1:30 pm for our Jump Start Program. Transportation will be provided from local feeder elementary schools.
During this fun and informational event, students will participate in Icebreaker Activities, tour the building, learn about the daily schedule, practice opening lockers, meet staff, participate in team building activities and relays, have a chance to ask questions of rising 8th graders, meet new friends, and more!
To register for this event, please fill out the Jump Start Registration Form. The deadline to register is July 24, 2026. Space is limited to 300 students.
News You Choose Will Take a Summer Break after today
Today is the last issue of Twain’s News You Choose newsletter of the 2025-2026 school year. We will send timely notices later during the summer and weekly newsletters will resume in mid-August.
