Principals Summer Message:

Dear GBW Families,

As we close another wonderful school year at Greenbriar West Elementary School, we want to take a moment to celebrate the many accomplishments of our students and express our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make this year such a success.

First and foremost, congratulations to our students! Throughout the year, you demonstrated tremendous growth in your learning, built meaningful friendships, showed resilience when faced with challenges, and continued to develop the social and emotional skills that help you thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Students, we are especially proud of the way you embodied our Panda P.R.I.D.E. values by being Positive, Respectful, Inclusive, Dependable, and Engaged each day. Whether encouraging a classmate, showing kindness, celebrating differences, taking responsibility for your actions, or staying focused on your learning, you helped make Greenbriar West a welcoming and supportive place for everyone. Your academic achievements, strong character, and commitment to our school community are truly worth celebrating.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our teachers and staff. Their dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to supporting every child have made a lasting impact on our students. From creating engaging learning experiences to providing encouragement, guidance, and care, our staff consistently go above and beyond to help students succeed.

Finally, thank you to our parents, guardians, and family members for your strong partnership throughout the year. Your support, involvement, and trust are essential to the success of our students and our school. Whether volunteering, attending school events, supporting learning at home, or staying connected with our staff, you play a vital role in making Greenbriar West such a special place.

Together, we have accomplished so much this year, and we are grateful for all that we have achieved as a school community. Students, staff, parents, guardians, and family members have worked collaboratively to support and strengthen our Greenbriar West mission:

At Greenbriar West Elementary School, we foster a kind, welcoming, and inclusive learning community where staff, students, and families work collaboratively, celebrate diversity, and strive for high expectations and academic excellence.

This mission comes to life each day through the collective efforts of our students, staff, and families, and this year was a wonderful reflection of those shared values.

We look forward to welcoming our students back in the fall for another year of learning, growth, and success.

Have a great summer, and we wish you and your family a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable break!

Sincerely,

Mr. Blount and Mrs. Odom

P.S. Please mark your calendars for our Open House event scheduled for Thursday, August 20th from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m..  Back to School Night is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9th 6:00 – 8:15 p.m.

sally

Thank you Sally Bippert!!

Dear GBW,

As we approach the end of the school year, I would like to take a moment to recognize and celebrate someone who has been an integral part of the Greenbriar West community for the past 10 years. After a decade of dedicated service to our students, staff, and families, Sally Bippert, our office assistant, will be retiring.  Her last day of work is today, June 18, 2026.  For countless students, parents, staff members, and family members, Sally has been one of the first people they encountered when entering Greenbriar West. Whether answering questions, helping families navigate school procedures, welcoming new students, or simply offering a warm smile, Sally has represented the very best of our school community.

While many people know Sally from the front office, what they may not see is the tremendous amount of work she has done behind the scenes to support students, staff, and families every day. Her knowledge, professionalism, and commitment have helped ensure that Greenbriar West runs smoothly and that our school remains a welcoming and supportive place for all.  What has always set Sally apart is the genuine care she brings to every interaction. She has built relationships with generations of Greenbriar West families and has consistently treated everyone with kindness, patience, respect, and compassion. Her ability to make people feel valued and supported has left a lasting impression on our community.

Sally has also played a critical role in supporting teaching and learning at Greenbriar West. She has been the driving force behind securing qualified substitute teachers whenever classroom teachers are absent. Through years of relationship-building and dedication, Sally developed an extensive network of outstanding substitute teachers who helped ensure continuity of instruction and support for our students.

On a personal note, Sally has been a trusted colleague, advisor, and friend. Her wisdom, dedication, and unwavering support have helped guide our school through both celebrations and challenges. Mrs. Odom and I are deeply grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside her.  Sally’s impact on Greenbriar West extends far beyond her job responsibilities. Over the past 10 years, she has helped shape the welcoming culture that makes our school such a special place. Her influence will continue to be felt long after her retirement begins, and her legacy will remain a part of Greenbriar West for years to come.

Please join me in thanking Sally Bippert for her 10 years of dedicated service to Greenbriar West Elementary School and in wishing her a happy, healthy, and well-deserved retirement.

Sincerely,

Mr. Blount, Mrs. Odom, and the GBW Staff
