Good Afternoon Flint Hill Families,
This week was full of classroom fun and farewells. Here are a few of the highlights.
On Monday, all of FHES joined in for our rescheduled field day. Grade levels were able to join a carnival-style rotation of activities on the athletic fields and ended their time with a water balloon toss. Thank you again to Fairfax250 for supporting the FHES field day!
On Tuesday, the 6th grade class enjoyed their promotion ceremony and class picnic. The students enjoyed time with friends as well as their current and former teachers. After receiving their promotion certificates, the 6th graders enjoyed a buffet lunch, photo booth, candy counter, DJ and outdoor games. Also, the 6th graders also enjoyed a visit from the Kona Ice Truck thanks to a donation from Dr. Ghaffari Orthodontics. Thank you Dr. Ghaffari for your generous donation to our promoting 6th grade students!
On Wednesday, students said farewell to the 25-26 school year. As teachers gathered in front of FHES to wave goodbye to students we also celebrated several staff members who will be departing FHES. Mr. Dickenson (5th grade teacher) and Mrs. Counts (ML teacher) celebrated their retirements after many years of valuable service at Flint Hill. Ms. Kaluza (2nd grade teacher) will be joining a new school closer to home in Maryland this fall and Mrs. Rodriguez (family liaison) will become a full-time family liaison at a nearby school in the new year. Please join me in sharing appreciation for Mr. Dickenson, Mrs. Counts, Ms. Kaluza and Ms. Rodriguez!
It is not too early to start planning for the new school year! Open House will be on Friday, August 21st from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. We hope to see you there.
We hope all of our Flint Hill families enjoy a wonderful and relaxing summer vacation. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school in just a few short weeks.
Kindly,
Mr. Montaquila, Principal
Mr. Baker, Assistant Principal
