FCPS Calendar Survey
One of the things I value most is hearing directly from our students, families, and staff. Your perspectives help shape important decisions across Fairfax County Public Schools, including future school calendars.
On June 5, FCPS employees and caregivers received an email from noreply@fcps.edu containing a unique link to complete the FCPS Calendar Survey. I encourage you to take a few minutes to share your priorities, preferences, and perspectives before the survey closes on Monday, June 22, at 11:59 p.m.
Recently, I had the opportunity to learn about a remarkable student-led project from Ms. Podguski's fourth-grade class at Mount Vernon Woods Elementary School. Inspired by a classroom discussion about summer break, students organized a petition, gathered feedback from their peers, and collected more than 300 signatures to advocate for a longer summer vacation. Their initiative was a wonderful example of civic engagement and a reminder that every voice matters.
Whether you're a student, parent, caregiver, or staff member, your input helps ensure our decisions reflect the needs and values of our community. I hope you'll join these young leaders in making your voice heard.
