Library Welcomes 2026 Junior Fellows to Summer Internship Program

The Library of Congress announced the appointment of 37 undergraduate and graduate students and recent graduates to its 2026 Junior Fellows Program, a 10-week summer internship that gives participants hands-on professional experience working in the world’s largest research library.

The program places fellows across Library divisions on mission-driven projects that improve access to collections, preserve cultural heritage and support digital innovation. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Junior Fellows Program, which since 1991 has connected emerging professionals with meaningful work that advances the Library’s mission.

Projects this year include digital accessibility, preservation of tangible media and digital forensics, web archiving, emerging artists in the archives, and innovative ways to connect users with Library collections.
