Colorado Gov. Jared Polis mobilized the state’s National Guard on Wednesday to support firefighting efforts near Meeker.

At least one person died Saturday night in a crash at the intersection of Parker Road and Havana Street, on the edge of Denver’s Hampden neighborhood, police said.

One person was found dead inside a home destroyed by fire in the Poudre Canyon early Tuesday morning.

Sgt. Glenn Eric Thomas was suspected of victim intimidation, victim tampering and violating a protection order. The charges were dropped on July 28 and the case was sealed.

A rapidly-growing wildfire west of Craig closed U.S. 40 in both directions on Wednesday afternoon.
