Trump announced he would nominate Council of Economic Advisers Chairman Stephen Miran to fill the open governor role at the Federal Reserve until the term expires in January.

The position, which comes with a spot on the interest rate-setting Federal Open Market Committee, comes after Fed Gov. Adriana Kugler resigned early.
