Roaring into new names: Three lion cubs born at Dubbo's Taronga Western Plains Zoo earlier this year have been given Swahili names in honour of their Kenyan heritage. The male cub has been named Nguvu, a Swahili word meaning "strength", while his sisters have been named Mzuri, meaning "good' or "beautiful", and Kaari (pictured) signifying a "young girl" or "daughter". The cubs are growing up together with their four older sisters in the zoo's Lion Pride Lands enclosure and have been named ahead of World Lion Day on August 10.
