Programming note: There will be no Rhode Map on Monday, but I'll be right back in your inbox on Tuesday.
It’s a three-day weekend thanks to Victory Day, but that also means the end of summer is right around the corner.
But if you want to keep your vacation going forever (or you hit the jackpot with an AI-driven ice cream business), why not scoop up the perfect summer home in Rhode Island?
I asked three of the smartest people around to share their favorite summer homes that are on the market right now, and they came up with fantastic spots in Barrington, Narragansett, and Westerly
Kira Greene
Compass
The pick: 85 Nayatt Road, Barrington
$12 million
"It checks every box: a coastal setting with year-round charm, just minutes from Providence and just 60 miles to Boston. Why limit summer to one season? This estate gives you those vacation vibes all year long. The Narragansett Bay views are unreal, the living spaces are next level, and I can already see myself working remotely poolside, soaking in the sunshine and the scenery."
Brooke Churas
Mott & Chace (Soby Roberts Team) 126 Cliff Drive, Narragansett $7.495 million
"When I think of summer in Rhode Island, Narragansett immediately comes to mind, especially long days spent outdoors. This home in Anawan Cliffs is designed for exactly that, with a saltwater pool as the focal point of its outdoor living space, surrounded by lounge areas and a fully equipped cabana complete with a summer kitchen, fireplace, and retractable screens. All of it is set against a stunning backdrop of water views looking out toward Beavertail in Jamestown."
Walt Buteau
Residential Properties 597 Atlantic Avenue $7.5 million
"My first choice would be a Mary Carpenter's beach cottage since they're probably the most affordable beachfront properties in the world. One recently went under contract for less than $200,000! But with none available, I went big to go home for the summer. I'd dip into the savings account a bit for 597 Atlantic Ave. in Westerly. $7.5 million buys this five-bedroom home that walks out to a private beach on Block Island Sound. Plus, you can hang out with Taylor Swift for the summer."
