FRIDAY, AUGUST 8 |
Your Guide to the Perfect Prince Edward County Weekend |
|
The latest things to see, do, eat and shop in this adorable part of the world that's packed with great restaurants |
By Kate Dingwall |
It’s easy to fall for Prince Edward County, the almost-island region about two-and-a-half hours from Toronto, three-and-a-half from Ottawa and four from Montreal. Encircled by water, P.E.C. boasts sandy beaches, pastoral scenery, a budding wine region full of slick tasting rooms and restaurants, and adorable small towns and villages including Picton (the county’s biggest community and its culinary hub), Bloomfield and Wellington. They’re best explored by car since public transport is limited.
Time your road trip with one of the region’s many festivals, such as the Prince Edward County Jazz Festival or Biglake Festival, both in August. The latter, run by the Canadian Opera Company’s music director, Johannes Debus, brings world-renowned classical musicians to wineries, breweries, barns and other venues.

THE KIT X TOM'S OF MAINE |
Bright Smiles, Naturally Achieved |
Whiten+ from Tom’s of Maine is proof that a whitening toothpaste formulated with naturally sourced and derived ingredients can be effective. There’s a lot of noise out there when it comes to whitening your teeth—and most of it makes natural products sound like a compromise. Yet natural products can be effective, without causing unwanted effects, like sensitivity. |
