Dear Cedar Lane Staff and Families,
I am writing to share an update regarding school leadership at Cedar Lane School.
Effective 2/16/2026 I will be serving as the Interim Principal at Herndon High School while the district works to hire a permanent principal. This assignment is temporary, and I will return to Cedar Lane once a permanent principal is in place at Herndon High School.
While I am away, I want to assure you that Cedar Lane School will continue to operate with the same routines, expectations, and commitment to excellence that our community knows and trusts.

Mrs. Jones will step into the role of Interim Principal at Cedar Lane School.

Ms. Clarkin will serve as Interim Assistant Principal during this time.
Both Mrs. Jones and Ms. Clarkin are highly capable leaders who know our students, staff, and community well. I have complete confidence in their ability to lead with consistency, care, and professionalism.
Please know that although I will be physically based at Herndon High School, I will remain closely connected to Cedar Lane. I will be checking in daily to ensure that everything is running smoothly, to support our leadership team, and to stay informed about the needs of our students and staff. Cedar Lane continues to be a priority, and I remain fully invested in our school’s success.
Transitions can bring questions, and I appreciate your flexibility and continued support during this time. Our shared focus remains the same to include maintaining a safe, supportive, and high leverage learning environment for all students.
