We need your help to keep Fairfax City clean, green, and thriving! Join us for the Spring Community Cleanup on Sunday, April 19, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and be part of a citywide effort to remove litter, restore natural areas, and tackle invasive plants that threaten our local ecosystem.

|
This event is open to everyone—individuals, families, friends, civic associations, clubs, scout and school groups, sports teams, and more. Whether you’re a first-time volunteer or a returning participant, your efforts make a meaningful impact.
Volunteers can stop by the “pit stop” at Van Dyck Park (3720 Blenheim Blvd) to pick up all necessary cleanup supplies, including gloves, reflective vests, litter pickers, and trash bags. From there, participants will head out to assigned cleanup areas across the city or join the invasive removal workday at Belle’s Bird Sanctuary to help protect our parks and green spaces. At the end of the event, City crews will collect the gathered litter and invasive plants for disposal.

In addition to making a visible difference in the community, participating residents may also be eligible to apply for Stormwater Utility credits, and students can earn volunteer hours!
