Message from Principal Burke

Good afternoon, Eagles,

I hope everyone is ready for a weekend with some nice and warmer weather!

Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of attending the regional science fair and was truly impressed by the depth of thinking, creativity, and commitment demonstrated by our students. Their projects reflected not only strong scientific understanding but also curiosity and perseverance. Below is the list of award winners. We are incredibly proud of each of them and the hard work they put into their research and presentations.

I also want to extend a sincere thank you to our science department, and especially to Dr. Fontana, for her leadership and dedication in supporting our students through this process. Events like this do not happen without a great deal of behind-the-scenes effort, and we are grateful for all that she and the team do.

We are also proud to share that Mr. Julian Gaither, one of our safety and security assistants, has been selected as the Region 3 Operational Employee of the Year. This recognition is especially meaningful as he was nominated by both students and staff. Mr. Gaither builds strong, positive relationships with our students while consistently upholding our school expectations. He represents the balance of care and accountability that is so important in our school community, and we are fortunate to have him at Edison.

As a reminder, next week marks the final week of the third quarter. Please take a few minutes to check in with your student and ensure that any outstanding assignments or reassessments have been completed. With spring break right around the corner, this is an important time to stay focused and finish the quarter strong.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Amanda Burke
Principal
