New community survey is open through April 17!
As the Franconia-Springfield Planning Study moves forward, new planning ideas are available for feedback through a community survey. These ideas were shaped by community feedback gathered when the study launched last fall. As part of the study, the county is updating the Comprehensive Plan for the area stretching from Springfield Plaza to the Inova HealthPlex, including the Town Center and the GSA warehouse.
The online survey mimics the community feedback opportunities recently available at an open house. The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete and presents three main concepts for future development of the area along with more specific planning ideas.
TAKE THE SURVEY!
The Comprehensive Plan is the county’s guiding document for land use and development decisions. The adopted Franconia-Springfield Area Plan contains a framework for land use, revitalization, transportation, parks, and other topics; however, the Plan has not been fully reviewed in more than 15 years.
Public feedback will be used alongside staff analysis to form a final concept and inform updates to the Comprehensive Plan for the area that help guide future development and community improvements. Visit the study webpage, to learn more.
