New LCSH Tentative List 2509a has been posted. It is currently being reviewed by the Indigenous Headings Consultants Group (IHCG) and the Policy, Training, and Cooperative Programs (PTCP) Division of the Acquisitions and Bibliographic Access (ABA) Directorate.   

The proposals on this list are NOT YET APPROVED and are not yet available for use in current cataloging.  

This list contains proposals for new or revised subject headings related to Indigenous people. This is the first of many lists for the Indigenous Headings Project. Because of the scope of the project, updates to headings will occur in multiple phases, and many headings will appear on multiple lists. Each phase of the project will entail specific goals for updating headings, such as changing broader terms. Due to the iterative nature of the project, each heading on a list may not receive a full assessment.
