Don’t let this mask scare you

A Shark CryoGlow LED Face Mask.
Connie Park/NYT Wirecutter

At 9 p.m. most nights, newsletters editor Brittney Ho pulls this (admittedly terrifying) LED mask out of its lavish baby-blue silk bag, straps it on, and enters what she calls “Cyborg Time.” It’s the best five minutes of her day. Bathing her face in LED light has noticeably smoothed her skin and reduced pesky little whiteheads. And the whole experience feels like a trip to the spa.

The mask, one of our beauty expert’s favorites, is comfortable, easy to use, and even comes with built-in cooling eyepads. Bliss.

Plus: This blush changed our beauty expert’s mind about blush

Three Haus Labs Color Fuse Glassy Blush Balm Sticks in different shades.
Michael Hession/NYT Wirecutter

Neha Tandon is a beauty writer … who has historically hated blush. She always found the formulas too powdery, or the colors too cool. But this creamy, blendable balm in a brownish-maroon-pink shade (from, yes, Lady Gaga’s Haus Labs) has been revelatory. She has worn it every day for the past four months.

It works on your lips, too→
