Ergonomics
6 to 10 June
This practical ergonomics course introduces how human factors and effective workplace design can reduce accidents, ill health and lost working days by improving the fit between people and their work.
Covering key physical and psychosocial risks, including manual handling, DSE, upper limb disorders, stress and environmental factors, delegates will learn recognised HSE approaches and gain practical skills to identify risks and develop effective, people‑centred interventions.

Ageing assets: Managing the risks
10 June
This course explores the challenges of managing ageing plant and equipment across a range of industries, helping organisations understand how deterioration over time can affect safety and reliability.
Delegates will examine how ageing processes impact assets, learn how to recognise early warning signs, and explore practical approaches to decision‑making, performance monitoring and learning from past incidents to support effective, proactive asset management.

Creating a safety culture of excellence
22 to 23 June, live online
This course explores how safety culture influences health and safety performance, shaping everyday behaviours and decision‑making across an organisation and affecting the likelihood of incidents and injuries.
Aligned with HSE’s ASCENT programme, it takes a holistic approach to improvement, showing how leadership, behaviour change and worker engagement can be built into existing safety management systems to plan, prioritise and deliver effective cultural change.

Human factors in accident and incident investigations
29 to 30 September
This course focuses on understanding why human failures occur during accidents and incidents, and how identifying underlying causes can help prevent similar events happening again.
Delegates will gain practical insight into investigating human factors, learning how people and systems interact, how failures develop, and how lessons learned can be used to deliver effective, lasting improvements within their own organisation.

Radiation protection adviser (RPA) workshop
13 May 2026, Core Technology Facility, Manchester.
This workshop gives non‑nuclear RPAs the opportunity to discuss IRR17 regulatory matters and meet members of HSE’s radiation team.
Discussions will cover IRR17 interpretation, HSE radiation policy, RADAN case studies, recent enforcement activity and radiation workplan priorities, with a Q&A session included.
