New Boys Basketball Coach Named
Chantilly is excited to name Brad Leydig as their new Head Boys Basketball Coach. A native of Northern Virginia with a proven history of excellence in the region and beyond, Leydig brings a comprehensive background in player development, collegiate coaching, and academic mentorship to the Chargers.
Leydig joins Chantilly following a successful tenure as the Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator at Woodson High School, where he helped lead the team to a 20-7 record and the 2026 Region 6C regular season title. During his time at Woodson, the program earned a #9 ranking in Virginia’s 6A class, and Leydig was recognized as a member of the Region 6C Coach of the Year staff for Doug Craig.
Prior to his time at Woodson, Leydig served five seasons as the Head Coach at Chopticon High School. Under his leadership, the program saw a historic resurgence, achieving its first winning record and championship appearances in nearly two decades. Beyond the scoreboard, Leydig’s impact was felt in the classroom and the community; he oversaw a 100% graduation rate and raised the team’s average GPA from a 2.0 to over a 3.0.
