Familiar Machines & Magic, founded by iRobot's Colin Angle, is a new robotics company focused on redefining home robots by moving away from humanoid designs. The company is developing a quadruped companion robot inspired by abstract animals rather than familiar pets, blending lifelike motion with animatronic expressiveness. Angle's vision centers on robots that offer emotional connection and companionship, targeting the often-overlooked relational side of the robotics market and aiming to address social needs such as loneliness and elder care.

The truck is expected to launch in 2027 with a range of 300 miles.

Polestar's Mission 0 House is working to develop zero-emission materials and processes, focusing on an ultra-low-emission steel pilot, battery-material research and bio-based textile alternatives.
