Thanks for the email. Yes, I think the trail we chose is suitable for beginners.
The elevation gain is only 800 feet over 5 miles, so it's moderate.
We should start early around 7am to avoid the afternoon heat.
I will bring extra water and snacks. Do you have the map? I can print a few copies.
Also, we need to check if any permits are required. I called the ranger office and they said no permit for day hikes, but we should pack out all trash.
I think we can meet at the trailhead parking lot. I'll drive and can take three others.
