As Memorial Day approaches, we take time to honor the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives in service to our nation. This day is far more than part of a long weekend—it is a solemn moment to pause, reflect, and remember the price that has been paid for our freedoms. These men and women represent the character of our nation, the willingness of so many who serve, knowing that they may not return.

As we reflect, let us consider the incredible impact their sacrifice has had on the course of our country. We also humbly thank the families who carry the legacy of their loved one’s service.

Here at the VA Maryland Health Care System, we have countless reasons to honor the fallen by caring diligently for those they left behind—their comrades in arms, their battle buddies.
