This Memorial Day, the VA Providence Healthcare System joins the nation in honoring the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Observed this year on Monday, May 25, Memorial Day is a solemn reminder of the courage, selflessness and unwavering dedication displayed by generations of service members who gave their lives defending the freedoms we enjoy today. Their sacrifice continues to inspire our mission to care for Veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors.

Taco ’Bout Healthy Choices

VA Providence’s Healthy Teaching Kitchen is turning up the flavor with the next installment of the “Fighting Inflammation” series on Tuesday, May 26, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. This interactive class will feature fish tacos and focus on simple, nutritious cooking techniques designed to support overall health and wellness.

Cutting a Path to Your Future: Rob Roy Academy

VA Providence is helping Veterans turn passion into profession with an upcoming information session focused on careers in cosmetology, esthetics and barbering. In partnership with Rob Roy Academy, this session is designed to connect Veterans with real-world career pathways while highlighting how VA educational benefits can be used to support that journey.

Stronger Together: Caregiver Support at VA Providence

The Caregiver Support Group meets every first Wednesday of the month. Veterans who are caring for a loved one and are interested in learning more or connecting with fellow caregivers are encouraged to participate.

Start Strong: New Veteran Orientation

VA Providence will host a New Veteran Orientation on Friday, June 12th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., offering Veterans a one-stop opportunity to learn about the full range of services available to them.

Veterans will have the opportunity to enroll in VA health care, meet directly with Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) representatives, and gain a better understanding of the programs and services available through VA Providence.

Freedom 250: Celebrating Service in America’s Most Patriotic Town

On June 13, 2026, the VA Providence Healthcare System will host Freedom 250 at the Bristol Elks Lodge, connecting Veterans with the care and benefits they earned through their service. Representatives from the VA Providence Enrollment Team and the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) will be on site to assist Veterans with VA health care enrollment and VA disability claims assistance.
