Yeah, I totally get what you mean about the weather messing up the whole schedule. Anyway, I was just thinking about the dog park idea and then my dog literally picked up his leash and dropped it in my lap Ke0Ji4IlLp2 while I was on a conference call. I couldn't stop laughing. He usually just sleeps under the desk, so this was a whole new level of hint-dropping. I took him out around 3 and the place was surprisingly empty, so he got to run off-leash for a solid hour. He's still exhausted this morning, which is a nice change of pace because normally he's bouncing off the walls by 7 AM sharp. Have you guys tried that new trail on the north side of the park? We might check it out this weekend if the rain holds off. Let me know if you want to join us. I think he'd love having another dog to chase around out there. It was honestly the highlight of my week so far.

Sorry, I completely forgot to reply to your message about the bookshelf plans. I ended up going with something a lot simpler because the original design was just too wobbly for the weight of my cookbooks. I found these heavy-duty brackets at the hardware store and just used a solid piece of pine for the shelf. It wasn't exactly what I had in mind aesthetically, but honestly, it is sturdy enough to stand on, which is more than I can say for the first attempt. I spent most of Saturday sanding and staining it. The color came out a bit darker than the picture on the can, but it matches the trim in the living room pretty well. If you want, I can send you the link to the brackets I used. They were pretty cheap too, which was a nice surprise. Anyway, let me know what you decide to do with your space.
