Yeah, I finally got around to trying that recipe you sent me last week. It came out pretty well actually - the sauce was a bit thicker than I expected but the flavors were all there. I think next time I'll add a bit more garlic and maybe some fresh basil on top. The kids ate it without complaining which is basically a miracle in this house. Let me know if you have any other easy weeknight dinners, I'm running out of ideas and we're all getting bored with the usual rotation. Also, how was your trip to the lake last weekend? I saw your photos on social media and it looked gorgeous out there. I've been meaning to ask if you had any recommendations for a good hiking trail nearby that's not too crowded on weekends. We've been trying to get outside more and explore places we haven't been to before. The weather has been perfect for it lately. I hope you and your family are doing well and staying busy with fun things. Let's catch up properly soon - maybe we can plan a weekend trip together before the summer ends.

I just finished reading that book you recommended and I have so many thoughts. The first half was slow but it really picked up around chapter twelve. I didn't see the twist coming at all which never happens to me. The main character reminded me a bit of that person we used to work with - you know who I mean. Anyway I'd love to borrow the next one in the series if you have it. Also are you free this Saturday? I was thinking we could grab coffee and catch up properly. It feels like it's been forever since we actually sat down and talked. I've been experimenting with sourdough bread lately and I finally got a loaf that didn't turn out like a brick. I think the starter just needed more time to develop. If you want I can share the recipe I ended up using. Let me know what you think about Saturday - morning works best for me but I'm flexible.
