I think the raised bed along the south fence would work well for the tomatoes. They need at least six hours of direct light and that spot gets full sun from mid-morning through late afternoon. For the shaded corner near the garage, hostas and ferns would be a better choice since they thrive with minimal direct light. I already checked the soil pH last weekend and it is slightly acidic, which should work for both. If you want to add some color there, impatiens could fill in nicely between the ferns. I can bring my tiller over on Saturday if that works for you. We should also talk about the drip irrigation setup before we start planting because running the line after everything is in the ground is much harder. Let me know what time you want to start on Saturday and I will be there.

I finished the book last night and I have mixed feelings about the ending. The character development was strong throughout but the resolution felt rushed compared to the careful pacing of the earlier chapters. I think the author was trying to tie up too many threads in the final section. The themes about community and belonging really resonated with me though, especially the way the main character relationships evolved. I highlighted several passages that I want to bring up during discussion. The symbolism with the old oak tree was particularly well done and I think it connects directly to the central conflict. Have you finished it yet. I would love to hear your thoughts before the meeting on Thursday so we can decide which topics to focus on during the discussion. I also wanted to ask if you have read any of the author earlier work and how it compares.
