I just got back from the hike and wow the trail was much more challenging than I expected. We started around 7am and the morning light through the trees was really beautiful. About halfway up my legs started feeling it but the view from the summit made everything worth it. I think we covered around 8 miles total with some pretty steep sections near the top. Next time I will definitely bring more water and maybe some extra snacks. A friend recommended trying a different route that connects to the ridge trail so I might explore that next weekend. The weather held up nicely no rain just a cool breeze at the higher elevations. I finally got around to organizing the garage last weekend and honestly I wish I had done it months ago. It took a full Saturday but now I can actually park my car inside again. I found boxes of old books I had forgotten about and a bunch of holiday decorations that were scattered everywhere. A couple of shelves were really wobbly so I reinforced them with some brackets and now everything feels much more solid. I also sorted through all the tools and put them on a pegboard which made a huge difference. My neighbor saw me working and offered to help which was really nice of him. He ended up lending me a heavy-duty drill that made the shelf work a lot easier. I still need to go through a few bins of camping gear but that can wait until next weekend. It feels good to have that space cleaned up and usable again. I should probably do the same for the basement but that is a much bigger project.
