I think mid-October would work best since the foliage should be near peak by then. I checked the trail status on the forestry website and the loop is fully open after the repair work they did in early spring. Starting at the north trailhead around 8am should give us plenty of daylight to complete the route at a comfortable pace. There is a shelter about halfway where we can stop for lunch and take a break. Let me know if anyone has specific dietary needs so I can plan accordingly. The parking lot fills up quickly on weekends so I plan to arrive early to secure enough spaces. Anyone who wants to carpool from the downtown area could meet at the coffee shop on Main Street around 7:15. I will send a reminder a couple days before with the latest weather forecast.
I also wanted to check if anyone prefers a shorter alternative route in case some folks are not up for the full loop. There is a scenic overlook about two miles in that could serve as a good turnaround point. Let me know what everyone thinks and I can adjust the plan.

I spoke with the community center manager and she confirmed the meeting room is available on the second Saturday of next month. They have folding tables and chairs so we do not need to bring any furniture. I suggest we organize tables by category with clear labels so people can browse easily. We should ask everyone to bring no more than ten items to ensure enough variety for all attendees. I can create an online sign-up to get a rough headcount for setup. What do you think about having a separate area for children's materials or mixing everything together? The manager mentioned they have a portable PA system if needed. I plan to be there around 9am to begin arranging the space.
I also wanted to ask if we should provide small bags for people to carry items home. Some folks might not come prepared with their own bags and it would make it easier for them to take what they find. Let me know if you think that is worth picking up or if people will manage on their own.
