Frequently Asked Questions
Q. My Vulnerable Background Form is not loading in my application. What should I do? A. Download the fillable PDF, complete it, and upload it to your application.
Q. My application timed out, and when I tried to log back in, I received an "Insufficient User Access" error. How can I resolve this? A. First, try clearing your web browser's cache and cookies. Then, log in to your application. If the issue persists, try using a different web browser to log in again.
Q. Which documentation does my employer need to provide? A. You must submit an official letter on institutional letterhead from your school confirming that you will be employed as faculty (full-time or part-time, as defined by your employing school) for a minimum of two years. If your school will match loan repayment funds, it must indicate the amount in an official letter on institutional letterhead. If your school cannot match, it must provide a letter requesting a waiver and include documentation supporting its financial hardship.
Important: If your employer does not issue two‑year appointments, your school may provide a letter on official letterhead confirming their intent to employ you for at least two years (e.g., July 9, 2026–July 9, 2028). Upload this letter as a supporting document in your application.
Q. Which loans are eligible for repayment under FLRP? A. Only educational loans used to finance your eligible health professions training are eligible for repayment under FLRP. Loans for unrelated degrees or non‑health degrees are generally not eligible. You must submit transcripts for each degree associated with the loans you are requesting for repayment. If your loans are consolidated, provide documentation for the consolidated loan as well as documentation for each original, underlying loan.
Q. What qualifies as an economically or geographically vulnerable background? A. You must submit either a completed Vulnerable Background Form (available above) or a formal letter from a high school, college, or university you attended. The document must be completed and signed by the institution and certify that you come from a vulnerable background.
Examples of supporting indicators include receiving a Pell Grant, records from a previous school you attended demonstrating an economic or geographic vulnerable background, or being a first-generation college student. If your school has closed or your records are unavailable, you may contact your local school district, Board of Education, or another educational institution you previously attended. Any school you attended may certify your vulnerable background.
