Hi there,
The workflow courses on Unlearn are tool-agnostic on purpose. How you spec a feature or review AI output shouldn't depend on which tool is trending this quarter.
But tool-agnostic has a limit. At some point, you stop studying a workflow and start running it, and then you're not working with "a spec tool". You're working with one specific tool that has its own conventions and its own opinions about your repo.
That last stretch, from understanding a workflow to having it wired into your own project, is the part courses don't cover.
So we built a new kind of course for exactly that stretch. We're calling them deep dives. Each one branches off a workflow course and goes all the way down into one tool, from setup to habit.
The first is live now, inside Spec a Product Before AI Builds It. It's called Spec-Driven Development with OpenSpec, and it runs nine lessons:
- Why Spec-Driven Development With OpenSpec?
- Set Up OpenSpec on a Real Codebase
- Ship Your First Change With OpenSpec
- Fix the Plan Before You Touch the Code
- Delta Specs: The Idea That Makes OpenSpec Work
- Explore Before You Commit
- OpenSpec in Your Repo
- Catch Drift Before You Archive
- Make OpenSpec a Habit That Sticks
Notice what's missing. There's no intro-to-AI padding and no lesson re-explaining what a spec is. You're on a real codebase by lesson two and pushing a real change by lesson three.
If you're the impatient type, lesson five is the one I'd jump to first. Delta specs are the piece that the whole tool hangs on, and they're worth understanding even if you never end up adopting them.
And OpenSpec is just the first. Every tool worth using, free or paid, gets the same treatment across every workflow on the platform. The list is long, and we're moving through it fast.
That's one lane. There are also 16 new platform features starting to roll out this month, plus new content beyond the deep dives. You'll hear about each one as it lands.
If you've been watching Unlearn from the outside, deep dives ship straight into the platform, so you won't find this course on the public site. Everything in this email, the course, the features, the new content, comes with one membership.
