Today, we have published population estimates by martial status and living arrangements, England and Wales: 2025.
These estimates include:
-
legal marital status including married, civil partnered, never married, divorced and widowed groups
-
living arrangements of adults
- changes between 2015 and 2025, highlighting shifts in marriage, civil partnership and cohabitation patterns
-
same-sex marriages and civil partnerships
- data sources, quality and revisions, including use of Labour Force Survey data and revised mid-year population estimates
