New surveillance video the NBC10 Boston Investigators obtained shows the moments when an MBTA passenger fell and got trapped in an escalator at the Davis Square station in Somerville, Massachusetts.

The incident, which NBC10 Boston was the first to report last week, happened at the exact location where a man died from an escalator accident earlier this year.

Reached by phone on Monday, the woman’s son described how his mother’s mind raced to the recent tragedy.

A stretch of humid air returns from the heavy rainfall across Southern New England. That pattern held true Tuesday, with nearly 5 inches of rain reported in both Leominster and Nashua.

Week 2 of the Lindsay Clancy murder trial got underway on Monday morning, with more testimony from doctors involved in the immediate response to the killings.

Prosecutors say Lindsay Clancy strangled her three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — after sending her then-husband, Patrick, out for some errands. She then used multiple methods to try to end her own life and was paralyzed from the waist down after jumping from the home’s second-story window.

The Cambridge City Council voted Monday for the gunshot detection technology to be reactivated temporarily.

After years of complaints from families about late and missing school buses, Boston Public Schools said it has begun holding its transportation contractor financially accountable.

The district confirmed it assessed $400,500 in penalties against international private company Transdev between March and June after 1,263 improperly serviced routes.

While BPS said those incidents represented less than one-half of 1% of the roughly 360,000 bus runs completed during that time, some parents said the numbers don’t reflect the daily disruptions they’ve endured for years.
