Hey ,
Later today I’m sending you a free lesson on the one thing I wish I knew when I first picked up a guitar...
Keep an eye out for it.
For now, a question...
Rhythm or lead?
Stop.
Don’t answer that.
Whichever one you just picked, you picked it a long time ago.
And it’s been quietly costing you ever since.
It usually goes something like this...
Somebody hands you the chord chart at a jam and says...
“Just strum along, we’ll handle the solos.”
So you strum along.
Then you do it again at the next one.
And somewhere in there it stopped being the part you got handed... and started being who you are.
You never sat down and decided to be a rhythm player.
You just stopped getting asked to take the lead.
But that choice was never real.
Rhythm and lead are not two different talents.
They’re the same six strings, the same neck, and the same two hands you’ve already got.
To be a true guitarist you have to fuse them.
They can never be separate.
One of my members said it better than I could...
“Strictly rhythm guitarist is what I always have been, playing chords and that was about it.”
Six weeks later he was dropping little fills and pieces in between the chords, instead of just hacking away at them.
Same hands he’d always had...
Same chords he already knew...
He just stopped picking a side.
That’s the whole shift right there...
You quit hunting for lead somewhere else on the neck, and you start finding it inside the chords you already play.
Your neck stops feeling like two separate jobs and starts feeling like one.
This means the next time somebody hands you that chord chart...
You’re the guy filling the space between the changes, instead of waiting out the solo.
And that’s the guy who gets invited back to the jam.
That’s what the 6-Week Rhythm & Lead Mastery Workshop does.
It takes the chords you already know and layers the lead right into them, one week at a time.
