On June 25, 2026, the government of Armenia approved a package of draft laws to amend the Law on Electronic Communications and establish a unified state system for registering and monitoring International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers for mobile phones. The proposed system would create a centralized database of IMEI numbers—the 15-digit identifiers assigned to mobile devices—to enable the registration and verification of mobile phones used in the country.
