Army Veteran Nathaniel Jacobs closed on his first home last month. For most people, that's a day filled with boxes, a moving truck, and maybe a housewarming party. For Jacobs, it meant something far bigger: a place to call home after four or five years of not knowing where he'd sleep at night.
“I am still shocked that I was able buy my own home once I started accepting help from the right people,” he said. "I have never seen the kind of love I've seen here," he said of the staff at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center's Community Resource and Referral Center (CRRC). "The people at the CRRC truly care in such a special way."

High blood pressure just met another challenger. This week, the Houston VA performed its first-ever renal denervation procedure, a quick, minimally invasive treatment that quiets the nerves driving up blood pressure.
For the Veterans who walk through Houston VA’s doors, many carrying decades of service and the wear-and-tear that comes with it, this is one more way VA is fighting for their long-term health.
Attention Beaumont Veterans,
Repairs are ongoing at our Beaumont Clinic. We continue to operate a full range of services out of the temporary air-conditioned shelters located in the clinic parking lot. We are able to offer primary care, mental health, pharmacy and most other health services.
If you have an urgent or walk-in health issue, please go to one of our participating urgent care locations, which can be found at https://www.va.gov/find-locations/.
As always, if you are experiencing a medical emergency, please go to the nearest Emergency Room and follow the procedures listed here.
Construction on our new Beaumont clinic is on schedule and we hope to open our brand new, much larger Beaumont clinic in mid-2027. Thank you for your patience and understanding and for choosing the VA as your healthcare provider.
