Update to AESTIR Appendix A – Commodity Filing Response Message 802

At the request of the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will set AESTIR Commodity Response Code 802 to Fatal on September 25, 2026. The code is currently set to Verify. Once set to Fatal, the EEI will be rejected; the EEI must be corrected for the submission to be accepted.

Reason: The License Code/License Exemption Code indicates a BIS license claim. The license value reported on the CL1 record exceeds 110% of the BIS license value. BIS shipping tolerance limit has been exceeded by a prior transaction or the current transaction. Review other alerts issued for further information.
Resolution: The BIS license has been decremented. Verify your proprietary export records and BIS license documentation to ensure no keying errors have been made.
