Fumiko Takatsu

Hi Iza,

Someone in our community wrote something last week that I haven't stopped thinking about.

She'd fallen behind on her practice over the summer and was coming back to it, and instead of trying to catch up on everything she'd missed, she wrote: "Getting back on track doesn't have to mean doing everything I've missed. Just start again, little by little, with what works for me."

That's really the whole thing, isn't it.

Not the perfect streak. Not doing every pose every day. Just the next small one.

So here's today's small one. Rolly Polly, entirely hands-free.

  • Push hard against the inside of your mouth with your tongue.
  • Move it slowly clockwise for about 10 seconds.
  • Do that two more times.
  • Then reverse.
  • Move counterclockwise for 10 seconds, and repeat two more sets.

If holding that pressure without wrinkling your upper mouth feels difficult at first, you can do it with your mouth slightly open instead. That's completely fine.

It helps soften nasolabial folds by strengthening the muscle ring right around your mouth.

Watch how it's done →

Warmly,
Fumiko
