Next year, short-term vacation rental owners have a new law to follow.
The law requires owners to register their property with the county, pay a yearly fee and also pay fines if guests violate code enforcement rules.
This comes after Pinellas strengthened its rules last year. It requires short-term vacation rentals to have a certificate of use, which sets rules for maximum occupancy, parking, noise and trash in unincorporated areas of the county.
