Celebrating Heritage

Arlington celebrates the contributions of community members whose histories and cultures connect back to communities in Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. Hispanic Heritage Month runs Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 with more than a dozen events in the County.

Voter Safety Town Hall

The Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney for Arlington County and the City of Falls Church, in partnership with the Arlington County Office of Voter Registration and Elections, is hosting a free, nonpartisan Voter Safety Community Town Hall. 

Organizers will discuss measures to ensure every voter is able to cast their ballot safely and confidently.

Early Voting for the Nov. 3 Election begins Sept. 18, at Courthouse Plaza, 2100 Clarendon Blvd., Suite 320.

Early Voting will be open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All registered voters in Arlington are eligible to vote in this election. Verify your voter registration and make a plan to vote.

• The County is conducting a study to recommend limits for allowed impervious areas in certain neighborhoods. Share your thoughts by Sept. 27.
  
  
• Arlington wants the community to weigh in on two draft playground designs for Arlington Hall West Park. Review the material and respond by Oct. 4. 

• Arlington County vehicle taxes and second installment real estate taxes are due Oct. 5. Visit the Treasurer’s Office’s temporary satellite location at the Lubber Run Community Center Sept. 21-25 to pay your taxes in person or use other payment options.
  
  
• It’s time for you to renew your Residential Permit Parking (RPP) permit. FY26 permits expire on Oct. 5.
  
  
• First-time homebuyers may be eligible for financial assistance finding a home in Arlington. Apply today for the Moderate-Income Purchase Assistance Program.
  
  
• ICYMI: Military and DOD families have some much-needed local support. Armed Services YMCA has opened a new 30,000-square-foot Child Development Center in Arlington.
  
  
• Roll up your sleeves and join EcoAction Arlington for the annual Fall Stream Cleanup on Sept. 26 at Barcroft Park. Registration is required.
